Turkish Style Rug - 11726
The weavers of both the Turkish and Oriental rugs incorporated symbols into the design of their carpets. Each symbol had a meaning. The shape of these symbols was taken from nature and other things around them. So in the end, the rug told a 'story' of sorts. In some cases one has to interpret the meaning of some of these symbols. This particular rug has what appears to be the Rams horn center design.
This is a very unique well made rug with excellent color contrasts of reds, white and golds. This rug has some wear and damage but still retains most of its original beauty.
