Turkish Style Handmade Rug - 11791
The weavers of both the Turkish and Oriental rugs incorporated symbols into the design of their carpets. Each symbol had a meaning. The shape of these symbols was taken from nature and other things around them so in the end, the rug told a 'story' of sorts. In some cases one has to interpret the meaning of some of these symbols. This beautifully designed low pile wool area rug shows the intricate skill of the weaver in his overall use of floral symbols. The fringe on one end is completely worn, but the rug is in overall good condition. Measures 42" wide x 58" long.
